Hear From Our Team

“The internship program helped me a lot in the professional world, I understand how to communicate with customers, I learned a lot about Sales, Marketing, Human Resources, Leadership and Management plus I’m using the systems in my personal life and how to communicate with people in general, because when you know how to deal with people, you will be able to run your own business.”

“This internship at Next Generation Marketing has prepared me for the professional world by introducing me to conference calls and not micro managing me, making me more independent and self-reliant. When I did network with people I realize the benefit from it and using your resources to their maximum potential. It has made me realize the importance of being self-motivated and to never settle, whether or not you’re succeeding or failing. “

“Starting out an an intern definitely prepared me more for an Account Manager role in the future. It helped me maintain a student mentality and alleviated the pressure which allowed me to try as many different approaches as possible without the fear of failure because I was still in the learning process.”

“I liked how friendly Miriam and Emily were. Both you and Miriam really believed in the company. It wasn’t a fake “I work here because it’s a job”. It was I work here because I believe in this company and it really works. I could tell that the team chemistry is more like a team family. And that was a huge part of why I loved my last company so much. It gets you through so many hard days of questioning, working with clients and people. The second I sat down with you guys I all ready felt like I was accepted into the family.”

“My internship at Next Generation Marketing afforded me real world experience within various areas of business, allowing me to gain confidence as a young business professional. My favorite parts of the internship program was realizing my personal growth from pushing myself out of my comfort zone and the excellent mentorship from the Next Generation Marketing team. Being an intern first, has helped me become a better Account Manager because as an intern I had the ability to learn from my mentors, ask questions and develop within the business as an individual.”

Tristyn

“This internship helped me become more responsible and accountable professionally because while in the field there isn’t someone to micromanage you meaning I have to be mindful of a lot. It also helped me become a more patient person because in sales there are good and bad days and going into a project with a positive attitude can definitely affect the days outcome. My favorite part was the team building day because it gave me a chance to see the company’s employees in a different less formal way. Being an intern first contributed to me feeling more comfortable as an account manager however there were still a lot of things that I needed help with logistically but that also comes with time. The more times you act as account manager the more familiar you become with the logistics of the project.”

Samantha

“The internship program taught me how to step outside of my comfort zone and read people in a short amount of time. It taught me what I like to do and what I do not like to do in the marketing world, which I think is very important in my growth. My experience with Next Generation Marketing has helped be become a better Account Manager because I got to experience being out in the field, but with less pressure than an Account Manger might feel starting out. Being an intern allows you to experiment with different strategies in the field and grow as a person.”

Ellyn

“Throughout my internship at Next Generation Marketing this summer I was able to expand my knowledge on not only what I am personally capable of but also what a successful business is capable of with a little hard work. I was able to expand my knowledge of how a business works by learning and teaching several marketing systems. I was able to apply these marketing systems though my work in the field, which allowed me to continue to challenge myself. The most important way this internship program shaped me in the professional world is it gave me confidence. I learned how important it is to set goals in not only your personal life, but your professional life as well. By setting goals I was able to stay determined to achieve them and then eventually I was able to build a confidence that will allow me to continue to grow and move forward in my professional life. I also was challenged throughout these past 8 weeks to step outside of my comfort zone, put myself out there and get over my shyness which allowed me to further build up my confidence in communicating with people on a professional level. Looking back, my favorite part this internship program networking with everyone that I was lucky to meet at Next Generation Marketing. There are so many fun, wild and different personalities within Next Generation Marketing that taught me there is a different approach to communicating with people and I just needed to find the way that works for me! Each person I spoke with throughout these past few weeks taught me something different, whether it was big or small I will be able to take these lessons and apply them in my future careers.”

Vaidya

“The internship program was my first experience in the career route I want to take, being marketing. As such, I was able to apply various marketing systems in professional, something I have yet to do until now. I feel much more prepared for my future endeavors, where I will use the knowledge I gained in over the summer in my work. My favorite part was being able to communicate with NGM employees and interns. I believe an important aspect of working in a company is being surrounded by individuals who you connect with and make you feel great. No matter where you work you will be doing what you want to do, but the people themselves make a company unique (from a job perspective). Thankfully, I connected greatly with employees such as Ken, Linda, Jerrick, and of course the higher ups (Miriam and Kevin). Being able to meet college-level interns like myself also made me feel at home, as I was surrounded by like-minded peers who shared similar interests and aspirations.”

Skanda

“The internship program at NGM helped shape me in the professional world by keeping me held accountable. Whether it’s having to send the display pictures by a certain time, or making sure that the inventory count is correct, I became used to the workplace culture. Having to respond to emails when the count goes wrong, made me feel as I was freely given responsibility and allowed to solve any problems. I relished that responsibility as I learned how to make sure to follow the procedures in place. I think an intern first helped me a better account manager because it got me used to the workplace culture of NGM first. Also the internship helped me learn from fellow account managers about how to go about the systems and the job itself. It helped to have mentors as they helped adjust to the workplace. At the same time, they knew when to give me full responsibility and let me figure out things by myself. As an intern, I learned how everyone is willing to helping to each other in the company to succeed.”

Kyle

“It showed me a taste of what it felt like to work in the field, and really helped me learn a lot, both about people’s shopping habits as well as how to cater to a customer’s needs. I really liked working with all the different people during each of my shifts. Everyone has the same goal, but everyone does things a bit differently, and it was really interesting to see how everyone did it. Being an intern helped me become a better Account Manager because it helps lay the foundation of being an account manager, because I would already know all the procedures and would definitely help streamline the process.”

Kevin

“The internship program helped me develop both professionally and personally. Professionally, I learned about the intricacies of business through adherence to compliance. Also, I learned about branding companies in a way that will draw people in. Finally, I learned systems for converting this interest into sales by tapping into the impulse of people. My favorite part of the internship was the relationships I formed along the way. I really enjoyed how tight knit the office was and because of that I formed bonds with both interns and account managers. The culture of this company is definitely conducive for people who are looking to have fun and get to know fellow employees.”
